ONLINE FORMAT

Why should I participant in the IPLDN 2020 Conference online?

The beauty of the IPDLN 2020 Conference now being online is that you attend what you want and miss what you don’t. You don’t need to squeeze everything into two short days! If you do want to watch something later, there will always be a video recording for your future enjoyment.

There are plenty of live events planned including live presentations, workshops and symposiums.

They are scheduled at different times of the day to accommodate several time zones.  All sessions will be video recorded and shared within 24 hours.  Other content will be pre-recorded and able to be viewed ‘on-demand’ – this enables you to view the presentations at your leisure.

What will happen during IPDLN 2020 Conference online?

You will be given a unique log-in to access the conference online, so you can enjoy presentations and networking from the comfort of your office or home.

The format of the online conference will include familiar aspects of the traditional IPDLN Conference. The Conference will feature keynote presentations and during the conference there will be live moderated Q&As for each session. Some conference sessions will be live where you need to be sitting viewing at the time it’s being presented.  Other content will be pre-recorded and able to be viewed ‘on-demand’ – this enables you to view the presentations at your leisure. Time will also be allocated for networking online with other delegates.

Will the IPDLN 2020 Conference be free?

No, but this year’s IPDLN 2020 Conference will be offered at a reduced fee. Although many of the costs of a face to face meeting are no longer applicable, there are new costs and different resources required to run an online meeting.

PRESENTING AT THE CONFERENCE

How will my abstract be presented?

The initial information can be in your abstract acceptance email sent on 21 August 2020.  As the specifics of presentations will be determined by the presentation type, whether the session is pre-recorded or live-streamed, and several other factors. More detailed information on presentation format can be found at Presenters Guidance Notes Page HERE.

Please contact the Premier Events Concepts at shanna@premiereventconcepts.com.auwith any presentation questions.

I would like to withdraw my submission, what do I do?

Please email Premier Events Concepts at shanna@premiereventconcepts.com.au

Why should I submit an on demand video to the conference?

Submitting an ‘on demand’ video for the IPDLN 2020 Conference is a fantastic way to get international exposure for your research. Your work will likely get more exposure than presenting in a concurrent session of a face to face conference.

  • The abstract will be published in the conference app, conference platform and in the International Journal of Population Data Science
  • All conference delegates will have the opportunity to watch your video. At a face to face meeting, only those who attend your concurrent session would see your presentation
  • Conference delegates will have plenty of time to find your video and watch it in their own time. Your presentation will be available for conference delegates to view for 6 months after the conference.
  • The conference organisers will be actively promoting the ‘on demand’ videos
  • The conference meeting hub makes it easy for delegates to find you, ask questions and set up a meeting with you

Presenter Tips and Tricks

  • Do tech preparationGet familiar with the platform you’re using in advance.
  • Set the scene – Eliminate any visual clutter behind you.
  • Light up your face – If the lighting in your room isn’t optimal, set up a desk lamp behind your laptop, centred right over the camera to light up your face.  Avoid sitting with a bright window behind you as it will make you appear dark and foreboding.
